Prior to the Zoom Orientation:
- Complete the Volunteer Application updated 9.8.2020
- Review In-Home Environmental Assessment Tool updated 8.28.2020
- Be familiar with the programs and services we offer to help clients prevent falls.
Prior to In-Home Assessment
- If feeling ill, contact your site coordinator via text or phone.
- Take your temperature the morning of the assessment and report to your site coordinator.

PREPARATION FOR THE IN-HOME ASSESSMENT
The Assessment
- We are assessing the client’s home for fall hazards and potentially installing injury prevention equipment.
- We will be using a Microsoft Surface tablet along with the In-Home Assessment document to provide this service.
Tips for your In-Home Assessment
- The volunteer will be assisting the Healthy Aging Association Site Coordinator with the in-home assessment.
- Primary Task: take any photos needed on the Microsoft Surface tablet.
- These photos will prove the client is at risk for falling. Utilize the In-Home Environmental Assessment document to determine which pictures to take.

- Secondary Task: Time management.
Take pictures that clearly show where fall prevention accessories may be needed.
