Although the hot summer temperatures may deter some individuals from walking outdoors, some studies which have shown individuals benefiting not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally, from walking outdoors. In a study conducted in the past few years, researchers suggest that,  “…physical activity in a natural environment, or green exercise, might engage people in physical activity by increasing enjoyment of participation, offering social interaction and increased frequency of activity” (Gladwell et. al, 2012).  Some individuals who had more access to green spaces and frequented natural environments more often were suggested to have less anxiety and feelings of stress, improved mood and a refreshed mental state than those who did not take time to take part in outdoor activities.  So the next time you decide to take a walk, call up a friend or family member to take a walk to the local park, you never know what you may experience from nature in your surrounding neighborhood.
Here are some tips for walking outdoors in the summertime:
  • Walk in the earlier hours of the day.
  • Stay hydrated by bringing a water bottle with you along your walk.
  • Dress appropriately for the weather.
  • Protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses.
  • Wear sunscreen or a hat to protect yourself from the sun.

If you are interested in participating in a walking program Healthy Aging Association offers the S.T.E.P.S. (Seniors Tracking Exercise in Perfect Strides) program with two 12-week challenges, one offered in the Spring and the other offered in the Fall.  Participants track the miles they walk either at the Vintage Faire Mall or in their neighborhood and earn rewards for all the miles they walk. For more information you can visit the S.T.E.P.S. page by clicking here.

Also, we have created a designated walking route surrounding the Ceres Community Center if you live or frequent this area. The measured walking route was created to aid walkers in tracking their miles walked and encourage them to walk with friends or family members for enjoyment and exercise. The brochure for the Ceres Walking Route can be found by clicking here or by picking up a brochure at the Ceres Community Center.

Wide-to-zooming central focuses are indisputably the most critical photography central focuses that a wedding picture taker can't oversee without. They should ideally be central focuses that spread some spot around the 20-70mm focal length go with a hole of f/2.8.
